Detailed description

Greystone Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Romeo, Michigan.

Greystone Golf Club first opened for play in 1991. The course was designed by Jerry Matthews.

The golf course ar Greystone Golf Club was built on an old gravel quarry. The golf course ar Greystone Golf Club has some similarities to a Scottish-links design. Greystone boasts spectacular views, rolling hills, top notch conditions and the Quarry Holes; home to "The Best Finish In Michigan Golf." The "Detroit Free Press" rated the three finishing holes as the most difficult finishing holes in the State of Michigan. Holes #16, 17, and 18 were designed around a huge lake and play in a clockwise fashion. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on eight holes at Greystone.

In 1991, "Golf Digest" had a contest allowing contestants the opportunity to design a hole; the winning entry was to be used on a championship course. The Greystone Golf Club received the winning design, resulting in the construction of hole #2, a 179-yard, par 3. This hole requires a tee shot from an elevated tee to a green that has a large sand bunker protecting its left side and a pond on the right.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6914 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4978 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-5 that plays to 577 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 179 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 8, a 548 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Greystone Golf Club is # 12, a 193 yard par-3.
